EVOLUTION (DARWINISM) THEORY

Evolution was originally known as the “development theory.” A theory developed and introduced by Charles Robert Darwin and dubbed “Darwinism” by Thomas Huxley. Darwin’s theory is an issue which has been debated since its inception.

The evolution theory is the belief that existing animals and plants developed by a process of gradual, continuous change from previously existing forms. It is also known as descent with modification, constitutes organic evolution.[7]
Darwinism is a form of natural and sexual selection. The concept is based on the “survival of the fittest,” those organisms better adapted to the environment can survive and reproduce more successfully than those less fitted. This was called “the principle of natural selection” by Darwin.
Today’s knowledge of heredity provides an explanation of how variations may arise and has supplemented and modified the theory, but in its basic outline. Darwinism is now universally accepted by scientists.
